Kathryn Lindeman

Assistant Professor of Philosophy

About

I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina. My research interests are unified by an interest in the way that normative authority relates to normative subjects, with projects that range from the nature of legal normativity to the way language plays an essential role in group identity formation. My teaching at USC is focused on moral philosophy and philosophy of law, but I also get to teach courses in metaphysics, political philosophy, and beyond.

Recent projects include work on the normative authority of agency, the role that group speech serves in constituting group values, and and the grounds of self-identity facts.
